Plagiarism Policy

Pamiętnik Literacki is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity, originality, and ethical publishing. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must present original work and must not contain plagiarized material, including text, ideas, data, images, tables, or other intellectual contributions taken from another source without appropriate acknowledgment. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all sources used in their manuscripts are properly cited and referenced.

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to, the direct copying of words or passages without quotation and citation, substantial paraphrasing without proper attribution, presenting another author's ideas or arguments as one's own, reuse of previously published material without appropriate acknowledgment, and submission of substantially overlapping or duplicated content. Self-plagiarism and redundant publication are also considered breaches of publication ethics when previously published or submitted material is reused without clear disclosure.

All submitted manuscripts may be screened for plagiarism and textual similarity using appropriate plagiarism-detection procedures. The journal may assess similarity reports in conjunction with editorial judgment, as legitimate quotations, references, commonly used terminology, and properly attributed material may contribute to similarity scores and do not necessarily constitute plagiarism.

If substantial plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct are identified before publication, the manuscript may be rejected and the authors may be asked to provide an explanation. Where misconduct is confirmed after publication, the journal may take appropriate corrective action, which may include issuing a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the seriousness and circumstances of the case. Relevant editors, authors, and institutions may be informed when appropriate.

Authors are expected to cooperate fully with any investigation concerning allegations of plagiarism or duplicate publication and to provide clarification or supporting documentation when requested. The journal follows established principles of publication ethics and applies its plagiarism policy consistently and fairly while respecting the rights of authors and the integrity of the scholarly record.
